John Shields (mayor)

John Shields (born ca. 1944[1]) is the Mayor of Nyack, New York. In 2004, he was among the mayors who announced they would recognize the same-sex marriages performed in New Paltz, New York.[2] On January 13, 2009, he announced he would not run for re-election after serving four terms and would also leave the Democratic Party.[1] He was a guest at Gordon Ramsay's TV-series "Kitchen Nightmares: Season 2 Fiesta Sunrise".
